DOH logs 68 new COVID-19 cases, lowest daily tally in 6 months


The Department of Health confirmed 68 new cases on Tuesday, the lowest daily tally in 187 reporting days or since 67 new cases were logged on February 7.

The new cases bring the Philippines' COVID-19 total 4,110,104.

According to the DOH's COVID-19 tracker, active cases decreased by 112 cases to 2,645 cases. Recoveries increased by 699 cases to 4,040,797, while the death toll increases by one fatality to 66,662.

The region with the most new COVID-19 cases for the past two weeks is the National Capital Region with 442 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 180, Central Luzon with 178, Davao Region with 103, and Western Visayas with 78.

Among cities and provinces, Quezon City had the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days with 115 cases, followed by Bulacan with 58, Laguna with 57, Cavite with 52 and Davao with 51.

COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 12.4%, with 2,732 occupied—including 2,152 ICU beds—and 19,264 vacant. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
