Houses swept away in Ilocos Sur as river swells due to Goring
A Narvacan, Ilocos Sur river swelled due to the rains brought by Super Typhoon Goring and swept away several houses in Barangay San Pedro.
Among the houses swept away on Saturday, August 27, was a home owned by 64-year-old Leticia Rendon, whose house was also swept away during the floods of 2015.
“Dumawat kami kadi ti tulong a ta ikitaan da kami kadi ti pagyanan mi nga nagsafe safety,” she said in GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon Ivy Hernando's report on “24 Oras Weekend” on Sunday.

The Municipal Welfare and Safety Office, represented by Paulina Cabunoc, said they would provide financial assistance to those affected by the typhoon.
Residents in nearby areas have since been ordered to evacuate, with some 25 families from four barangays still seeking refuge in centers. Power is still available in the area, but water has been scarce as a pipe was damaged during the typhoon.
Meanwhile, several residents remained isolated as the bridge connecting Barangay Naguneg West in Narvacan and Barangay Nagsayawan in Sta. Maria had yet to be repaired after it collapsed during Typhoon Egay (international name: Doksuri).
The country continues to face Super Typhoon Goring (international name: Saola), with Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal 3 raised over the eastern portion of Isabela.
Nearly 2,000 individuals have so far been affected in the Ilocos Region and the Cagayan Valley based on reports of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
