Marcos, Zelensky to talk anew
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will speak over the phone again with Ukrainian President Vlodymyr Zelensky, according to a “24 Oras” report on Monday.
In an interview with GMA Integrated News, Chargé d'affaires Denys Mykhailiuk said arrangements for the phone call are underway.
Among the expected topics in the discussion are the possible exporting of Ukraine's vegetable oil and sunflower oil to the Philippines, and cooperation on maritime trade.
Zelensky also expressed willingness to share Kyiv’s military strategies with Manila.
Mykhailiuk also said Kyiv will be open to accepting Filipino migrant workers in their country once the conflict ends. The Ukrainian government has readied its recovery plan after the conflict.
“We will need engineers, we will need construction and development workers. We foresee that Ukraine for the next 50 years will be the biggest construction site in Europe,” the envoy said.—Sundy Locus/LDF, GMA Integrated News
