Comelec to reprint some ballots for BSKE 2023 —Garcia
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to reprint several ballots to be used for the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) after some municipalities were converted into cities, poll chairman George Garcia said Saturday.
Garcia made the announcement during his inspection of the voting simulation held in two malls in Manila, according to a Super Radyo DZBB report by Jhomer Apresto.
Garcia said the commission had already printed some ballots before a number of municipalities were converted into cities, including Baliwag in Bulacan, Calaca in Batangas, and Carmona in Cavite.
Garcia, however, did not elaborate on the number of ballots to be reprinted.
Comelec is also set to make an announcement on ballots to be used by residents in Enlisted Men's Barrio (EMBO) barangays next week. There are more than 200,000 voters in EMBO barangays now under the City of Taguig, which were formerly under Makati City.
Based on Comelec data, there are currently 92 million voters in the country, where 68 million are set to vote for the barangay elections, while 24 million will vote for the SK elections. —Jamil Santos/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
