Marcos to attend APEC Summit in California this November
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. will participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in November in San Francisco, California.
"The Philippines is actively participating in Indo-Pacific economic framework, and APEC leaders meeting in San Francisco in November. I look forward joining fellow APEC leaders in California later this year... this will be my 3rd trip in US since I assume office," Marcos told American business leaders.
Led by retired US ambassador Ted Osius, the US-ASEAN Business Council paid courtesy call on Marcos this morning.
In the APEC Summit that will focus on energy security, Marcos said he is interested in raising sustainable land, water, and ocean solutions that "align with our climate goals and support our plans to transform the Philippines into an upper Middle-Income Country by the year 2025."
Marcos expressed belief that together with the US and other partners including the private sector, the Philippines would build the necessary infrastructure to help power a growing economy as the country transitions to clean and renewable energy.
Marcos also told the American business leaders that the Philippines is on track on its goal of achieving the upper-middle income economic status. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
