Philippines logs 100 new COVID-19 cases


The Philippines logged 100 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, according to the latest data from the Department of Health.

The increase pushed the nationwide caseload to 4,173,142, while the country’s active cases now stand at 4,035. This is slightly lower than the 4,231 cases monitored on Monday.

The total number of recoveries rose by 286 to 4,102,494, while the death toll climbed to 66,612.

In the last 14 days, Metro Manila registered the highest number of new cases with 521. It was followed by Central Luzon with 331, Calabarzon with 315, Ilocos Region with 188; and Western Visayas with 183.

COVID-19 bed occupancy in the country is still at low risk with 14.7%
