PH logs 176 new cases


The Philippines logged 176 fresh COVID-19 infections, according to the latest data from the Department of Health released on Saturday.

This pushed the total nationwide caseload to 4,172,753. The number of active cases is currently 4,539, with a total of 4,101,631 recoveries and 66,582 deaths to date.

The National Capital Region logged the most number of new COVID-19 cases in the past two weeks with 595, followed by Central Luzon with 394, CALABARZON with 350, Ilocos Region with 260, and Western Visayas with 199.

The cities with the most number of new COVID-19 cases within the past 14 days are Quezon City with 123 cases, Ilocos Norte with 120, Laguna with 100, Cavite with 97, and Cagayan with 95.

A total of 5,033 samples were submitted and tested by 310 different laboratories on Friday.

The bed occupancy is listed at 14.0%, with 20,725 available vacancies in over 1,890 COVID-19 facilities nationwide.  —Jiselle Anne Casucian
