OVP receives P10M from PCSO for medical assistance program

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has received P10 million from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to support its medical aid program.

Vice President Sara Duterte attended on Thursday the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the OVP and the PCSO about the supplemental funding.

''The grant will be used by the OVP for the sole purpose of providing assistance for healthcare services to clients under the MAP (Medical Assistance Program) covering hospital bills, dialysis treatment, medicines, laboratory and diagnostic procedures, implants and other medical and assistive devices, chemotherapy, brachytherapy, radiation, physical, speech, and occupational therapy,'' the OVP said in a press release.

From July 2022 to July 26, 2023, the OVP's Medical and Burial Assistance Program has already served 82,353 beneficiaries and processed an amount of P764,802,065.60.

The assistance can be accessed through the OVP Central Office, OVP Extension Offices in Lipa, Batangas, and Tondo, Manila, and 10 OVP satellite offices in the cities of Davao, Zamboanga, Cotabato, Surigao, Cebu, Bacolod, Tacloban, Isabela, Dagupan, and Legazpi.

''Free public assistance application forms are available at the central and satellite offices, and should solely be used by the clients requesting such services,'' the OVP said.

Across the country, the OVP has 756 partners, including public and private hospitals and dialysis centers.  — VBL, GMA Integrated News
