Philippines records 185 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 4,708
A total of 185 fresh COVID-19 infections were recorded in the Philippines on Friday, based on the data by the Department of Health (DOH).
The fresh cases were cases lower than Thursday's 223.
Data also showed the active cases dipped to 4,708, the lowest figure in nearly three months.
The nationwide caseload is currently at 4,172,577, while the recovery tally stood at 4,101,298.
Seven new deaths were recorded, bringing the country's death toll to 66,571.
The National Capital Region had the highest number of cases in the past 14 days with 607, followed by Central Luzon with 403, Calabarzon with 367, the Ilocos Region with 267, and Western Visayas with 221.
Among the cities and provinces, Quezon City had the most cases with 128, followed by Ilocos Norte with 127, Cavite with 101, Iloilo with 96, and Cagayan with 194.
On Thursday, 4,665 individuals were tested in 310 testing labs while the cumulative positivity rate stood at 13.5%.
The current bed occupancy is 14.8% with 3,506 occupied while 20,241 were vacant.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
