NGCP said it has mobilized its line crews and is currently conducting patrols to inspect and assess the impact of the typhoon on its operations and facilities.
“Simultaneous restoration activities are also being conducted in areas already accessible,” the grid operator said.
“Please note that this update pertains only to the status of the transmission network. Localized disturbances may be better addressed by your distribution utility. This also does not include lines exclusively serving directly connected industrial customers,” it said.
NGCP said specific cities and municipalities affected by the unavailable transmission facility are determined by concerned distribution utilities, unless the outage affects the entire franchise area.
In its 8 a.m. situational report on Wednesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said 51 cities and municipalities in Regions 1, 2, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, 5, 6, and 8 had power outage due to Egay. However, six of them had their power restored as of Wednesday morning. —Ted Cordero/KG, GMA Integrated News
