DOH records 285 new COVID-19 cases


The Philippines on Wednesday registered 285 new coronavirus infections, pushing the nationwide caseload to 4,168,722.

Based on the Department of Health's latest bulletin, the active tally slightly dropped to 6,132 while the total recoveries climbed to 4,096,091.

The country’s death toll increased to 66,499, adding five new deaths.

National Capital Region (NCR) had the highest number of cases in two weeks, with 1,003, followed by Central Luzon with 726; Calabarzon with 565; Western Visayas with 426; and Cagayan Valley with 361.

Among the cities and provinces, Quezon City recorded the most new cases in the past 14 days with 255, followed by Iloilo province with 183; Cavite province with 176; Bulacan province with 166; and Cagayan province with 153.

A total of 5,745 individuals were tested on Tuesday, while 313 testing labs submitted data.

As of July 11, the current bed occupancy is at 16.4%, with 4,010 occupied and 20,498 vacant. — Sherylin Untalan/BM, GMA Integrated News
