DOH logs 347 new COVID-19 cases


The Department of Health (DOH) reported 347 new COVID-19 cases nationwide on Saturday.

The latest figure is 50 cases less than the previous 397 cases logged on Friday, as the total nationwide caseload rose to 4,167,606.

There are now 6,553 active cases, marking the eighth straight day of more than 6,000 but fewer than 7,000 active cases.

Data also showed that 431 new recoveries were added to the tally, which is now 4,094,569. The death toll remained at 66,484 for the tenth straight day.

Metro Manila is still the region with the highest number of newly reported cases, with 1,142 in the last two weeks, followed by Central Luzon with 783, Calabarzon with 652, Western Visayas with 428, and Ilocos with 387.

The provinces and cities with the highest number of new COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days are Quezon City with 301, Cavite with 205, Iloilo with 186, Bulacan with 180, and Rizal with 173.

A total of 5,910 individuals took the COVID-19 test on Friday, with data coming from 308 testing laboratories.

On Friday, the national bed occupancy rate was 17%, with 4,131 occupied and 20,178 vacant beds. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
