Jad Dera ordered transferred to Muntinlupa jail from NBI

The Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court has ordered the transfer to the Muntinlupa City Jail of Jose Adrian Dera, who recently figured in the news over alleged unauthorized trips outside detention.

In a three-page order, Judge Abraham Joseph Alcantara also said that the jail warden is allowed to bring Dera to the Senate on July 5 to attend the hearing of the Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights.

Dera is facing a charge of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and has been detained at the NBI jail since 2019.

Dera and several NBI security personnel were nabbed in June after he allegedly went out on a date with his escorts in tow.

He reportedly left his cell at 8 p.m. and returned to the NBI compound at past midnight.

NBI agents were waiting for him when he returned and was arrested.

Dera then had no comment when asked why he was leaving the NBI compound.

An official of the NBI allegedly ordered jail guards to escort Dera during dates and road trips.

The guards said NBI Security Management chief Jake Feudo gave orders to allow Dera to go out of his cell and even guard him on his road trips including his reported “date” in Makati City.

The NBI guards said that was not the first time the high-profile detainee went out of the facility, adding they accompanied him at least seven times.

Speaking to GMA Integrated News, Feudo refuted the claims of the jail guards that gave the order to bring Dera out of detention.

Feudo said he was aware this was prohibited.

He said Dera's trip to the hospital was the only one that had his permission. —NB/KG, GMA Integrated News
