LEDAC meeting to be held before SONA —Balisacan


National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan disclosed Tuesday that there would be a Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting before President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s second State of the Nation Address (SONA).

"Yes, we'll have one before SONA," Balisacan told GMA News Online.

Meanwhile, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri said a pre-LEDAC meeting was held among lawmakers on Monday.

"Napag-usapan po dito ang mga priority measures na kailangang ipasa ng Senado at ng Kamara sa darating na Second Regular Session," Zubiri said.

Zubiri said the priority measures include the following:

1. National Disease Prevention Management Authority/CDC
2. Mandatory Reserve Officers Training Corps
3. Internet Transactions Act
4. Amendments to the BOT Law/Public Private Partnership
5. Revitalizing the Salt Industry
6. Magna Carta for Filipino Seafarers
7. LGU Income Classification
8. Ease of Paying Taxes
9. PENCAS

On the other hand, the following are the measures being proposed to be included in the LEDAC priorities:

1. Philippine Defense Industry Development Act (PDIDA)/Self-Reliant Defense Posture
2. Amendment to the AFP Modernization Law
3. Tatak Pinoy
4. Blue Economy

Zubiri mentioned that a meeting with the Executive department would take place on July 5.

Among those who attended the meeting were Speaker Martin Romualdez, Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, Senator Sonny Angara, and House Majority Leader Mannix Dalipe. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
