PH logs 464 new COVID-19 cases
A total of 464 coronavirus infections were recorded in the Philippines on Saturday, data from the Department of Health’s (DOH) latest bulletin showed.
This is the second straight day of decreasing new cases and the 14th day of having less than 1,000 cases.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases slightly dropped to 8,353 from 8,580 on Friday.
The nationwide caseload is now at 4,162,231 while the total recoveries also climbed to 4,086,396.
Marking the eighth straight day of no new deaths, the country's death toll remained at 66,482.
In the past two weeks, the National Capital Region (NCR) has had the highest number of cases with 1,824, followed by Central Luzon with 1,251, Calabarzon with 1,171, Western Visayas with 730, and Cagayan Valley with 555.
Among the cities and provinces, Quezon City recorded the most new cases in the past 14 days with 459, Iloilo with 425, Cavite with 403, Bulacan with 331, and Pampanga with 291.
On Friday, 6,092 individuals were tested, while 308 testing labs submitted data.
The COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 17.8%, with 4,475 occupied and 20,660 vacant as of June 22. —Sherylin Untalan/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
