VP Sara vows to 'better serve' DepEd

Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday committed to doing more for the Department of Education (DepEd), which she leads.

Duterte made the statement on DepEd’s 125th founding anniversary.

“As we remain true to the call of public service, we offer our selfless duty to enable Filipino learners to realize their full potential and hone them to become the future workforce and active builders of our nation,” Duterte said.

“Thus, we commit to better serve our DepEd as a public institution that is founded on our mission to protect and promote the right of every Filipino child to quality and complete basic education,” she added.

Duterte said the department would facilitate effective learning as well as promote a gender-sensitive, safe, and motivating learning environment.

“Consistent with our Matatag Agenda in the Department, I encourage you to remain persevering in our shared advocacies while we steadfastly implement basic education reforms, plans, and programs that align with our common goals for national development,” she told employees.

“Tayo po ay magiging matatag tungo sa isang bansang makabata at batang makabansa,” she added.
