BRP Francisco Dagohoy meets no radio challenge in aid mission to Pag-asa
Philippine patrol vessel BRP Francisco Dagohoy had a smooth sailing as it delivered assistance to fisherfolk in Pag-asa Island, according to Jun Veneracion's report on"24 Oras."
The Philippine Coast Guard and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources arranged for the trip to bring some P5 million worth of post-harvest facilities and fishing boats for the fishermen in the island.
As it sailed, eight ships from still unknown countries were positioned from a not so distant spot from the island. A Philippine Navy boat is also in the area.
Lieutenant Commander Mark Adrias, BRP Francisco Dagohoy's captain, said he and his crew did not receive any radio challenge during the 24-hour sail that began from Puerto Princesa in Palawan.
There was also no Chinese coast guard vessel that trailed the Philippine vessel, the report said.
The only challenge the vessel encounter were the strong waves that reached up to two meters, the report added.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
