DOH logs 418 new COVID-19 cases, lowest in 6 weeks
A total of 418 new coronavirus infections were recorded on Tuesday, marking the fifth straight day of decreasing infections.
This is the lowest number of cases recorded in the past 44 days, according to GMA Integrated News Research.
Based on the Department of Health's (DOH) latest bulletin, the Philippines' active cases also dropped to 10,108.
The country's nationwide caseload is now at 4,156,176, while the recovery tally also jumped to 4,079,587.
No new deaths were recorded, keeping the death toll at 66,481. This is the seventh straight day of no new deaths.
The National Capital Region (NCR) had the highest number of new cases over the past two weeks with 3,742, followed by Calabarzon with 2,587, Central Luzon with 1,932, Western Visayas with 1,192, and Cagayan Valley with 931.
Meanwhile, Quezon City recorded most new cases in the last 14 days with 915, Cavite with 851, Iloilo with 707, Bulacan with 621, and Laguna with 584 cases.
According to the Health Department, 5,514 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Monday, while 302 testing labs submitted data.
COVID-19 bed occupancy was at 18.2%, with 4,623 occupied and 20,741 vacant, DOH added. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
