DOH reports 2,001 new COVID-19 cases as active tally drops to 16,314
The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 2,001 new COVID-19 cases as the active tally went down to 16,314.
This came after five days straight of less than 2,000 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported.
The fresh cases brought the nationwide caseload to 4,135,645, according to the DOH’s latest data.
The DOH said the active cases went down to 16,314 from 16,482 on Thursday.
The nationwide recovery tally is currently at 4,052,865, while the death toll stood at 66,466 with no new fatalities reported.
The National Capital Region (NCR) recorded the highest number of cases with 9,021 in the past two weeks, followed by Calabarzon with 5,502, Central Luzon with 2,243, Western Visayas with 1,567, and Bicol Region with 936.
At least 5,543 beds were occupied, while 19,912 were vacant as the bed occupancy in the country went down to 21.8% as of Wednesday.
The DOH said a total of 7,561 individuals were tested, while 320 testing labs submitted data as of Thursday. —Richa Noriega/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
