Arnie Teves' 60-day House suspension ends
Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo "Arnie" Teves Jr. has asked the House of Representatives a chance to explain his side as his 60-day suspension ended on Monday, Unang Balita reported Tuesday.
Teves, who is being linked to the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo, made the request through a letter sent to the House Committee on Ethics, the report said, quoting his lawyer Atty. Ferdinand Topacio.
Teves, who is out of the country, reportedly said in his letter that before his possible sanction, he must be allowed to speak even virtually in the hearing to explain his side.
Topacio said Teves' request does not violate any House rules.
Teves was suspended for his failure to attend House sessions. He has repeatedly denied involvement in the killing of Degamo. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
