DOH logs 1,912 new COVID-19 cases; active cases dip to 16,422
The Department of Health on Sunday registered 1,912 new COVID-19 cases, the first daily tally in four days to go below 2,000, and bringing the Philippines' total cases to 4,127,628.
Active cases decreased to 16,422 for the second straight day of declining cases, but the fourth straight day of the active tally being above 16,000, according to GMA Integrated News Research.
Total recoveries increased by 1,993 to 4,044,740, while the death toll remains at 66,466.
The region with the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days is the National Capital Region with 9,902, followed by Calabarzon with 5,702; Central Luzon with 2,012; Western Visayas with 1,450; and the Bicol Region with 900.
Among cities and provinces, Quezon City had the most new cases in the last 14 days with 2,341, followed by Cavite province with 1,793; Rizal province with 1,617; Laguna province with 1,206; and City of Manila with 1,085.
COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 21.1% with 5,327 occupied and 19,971 vacant. Among the occupied beds, 2,575 are in the ICU. — BM, GMA Integrated News
