NBI files multiple frustrated, murder complaints vs. Arnie Teves
The filing of multiple complaints by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against suspended Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr., is now ongoing, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said on Wednesday.
“I think so. It’s ongoing right now. It’s ongoing. The NBI is here already. I was told by the [NBI] Director Medardo de Lemos that they were coming over to file the complaint,” Remulla said when asked in an ambush interview if the complaints were already filed.
He said that the multiple murder, multiple frustrated murder, and multiple attempted murder would be filed against the suspended lawmaker.
The Justice secretary earlier said that Teves appears to be the main mastermind in the March 4 shooting at the home of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo that led to the death of 10 people and the injuries of several others.
Teves and his camp have repeatedly denied involvement in the killing of Degamo.
Personnel from the NBI were seen this morning arriving at the Department of Justice, carrying boxes of documents related to the filing of murder complaints against Teves.

Remulla said the panel of prosecutors is expected to convene to receive the documents.
“Alam ko siya (Arnie Teves) muna rito sa complaint na ‘to (the complaints are only for Arnie Teves) because the decision is still ongoing for other cases and the other suspects in other roles and other crimes,” he said.
GMA News Online sought the comment of Teves' camp on the filing of complaints but has yet to receive a response as of posting time.
On Tuesday, Remulla, citing a "reliable source" who may have access to flight data into the country, said Teves may be coming home from Timor Leste, where his bid for political asylum was previously rejected.
Teves refuted this, saying the claim that he is returning to the Philippines within the day is “fake news.”—AOL, GMA Integrated News
