DepEd starts early registration for School Year 2023-2024
The Department of Education (DepEd) has opened the early registration for incoming kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 learners in public schools nationwide for the next academic year.
Early registration for select grades in all public elementary and secondary schools will be held from May 10 to June 9, 2023.
DepEd said enrollees in kindergarten, and Grades 1, 7, and 11 shall pre-register or participate in the early registration to allow the agency to make necessary preparations and adjustments of plans for the school year 2023-2024.
Meanwhile, incoming Grades 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12 learners from public schools will already be considered pre-registered and need not to participate in the process, it added.
Private schools were also encouraged by DepEd to conduct their respective early registration activities during the same period.
DepEd said face-to-face transactions with schools are preferred for early registration, but schools may continue to implement other means of collecting registration forms.
Schools Division Superintendents and school heads will also lead advocacy campaigns in their respective jurisdictions and encourage out-of-school children and parents/guardians of prospective learners to participate in the early registration.
All public elementary and secondary schools were also ordered to update or encode daily in the early registration facility in the Learner Information System (LIS) using the school head or administrator account. —Giselle Ombay/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
