Alleged ASG member wanted for murder nabbed in Parañaque

An alleged Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) member who was reportedly involved in multiple crimes in Mindanao was nabbed in Parañaque City.

According to John Consulta’s report on “24 Oras” on Friday, members of the Southern Police District (SPD) Special Operations arrested 33-year-old Alpin Salahuddin. He has a standing arrest warrant for murder and attempted murder.

(He was involved in kidnapping cases in Zamboanga and BaSulTa. He was among the top seven on the list of the most wanted persons.)

Allegedly recovered from the suspect were a .45 caliber gun, a grenade, and three identification cards with his photo but with different names and ages.

Salahuddin has been staying in Metro Manila for seven years as a construction worker.

(Among the evidence we recovered was his phone from which we can obtain more information on his activities in Metro Manila. Whether he was merely hiding or had other purposes.)

The suspect denied having links to the ASG.
