SC approves Code of Professional Responsibility, Accountability
The Supreme Court on Wednesday announced that it has unanimously approved the Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability (CPRA), which updates the 34-year-old Code of Professional Responsibility.
In a statement, the high court said it unanimously approved the CPRA during its en banc session in Baguio City on Tuesday.
“The CPRA… is part of the Supreme Court’s plan to update the 34-year-old Code of Professional Responsibility and craft a modern, relevant, and responsive guide for lawyer’ conduct,” it said.
According to the SC, more than 2,000 legal practitioners nationwide took part in the Ethics Caravan from September 2022 to January 2023.
Meanwhile, the SC said the CPRA will be launched on Thursday. — Joahna Lei Casilao/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
