401 PDLs released by BuCor
More than 400 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) were released Monday from various prisons and penal farms in the country, according to the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
Most of the 401 PDLs released were from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) with 163, followed by the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DBBF) with 99, and Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) with 47.
Of the 163 released from the NBP, 59 were from maximum security, 86 from medium security, 14 from minimum security and four from the Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC).
Majority of the PDLs released, or 169, were due to parole while 106 were set free following the expiration of their maximum sentence with Good Conduct Time Allowance.
Also released were 65 PDLs who were acquitted for their crimes. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
