Passengers urged to allot ample time to get to NAIA amid transport strike

In anticipation of the March 6 to 12 transport strike, the Manila International Airport Authority urged all air passengers to give ample time to be at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport for the usual three hours before flight departure time, the Manila International Airport Authority said in Sunday statement.

Passengers were also encouraged to monitor news reports and check the status of their flights before heading to the NAIA.

Meanwhile, given that the strike may result in limited public transportaion to and from NAIA terminals, local airlines and airline service providers prepared contingency measures to prevent interuptions in their operations.

MIAA General Manager Cesar Chiong also directed the deployment of MIAA shuttles to and from Dasmariñas City for MIAA employees residing in Cavite.

Employees in nearby Metro Manila cities and in Bulacan and Laguna were encouraged to consider staying at the office where temporary sleeping quarters would be available. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
