DOH logs 86 new COVID-19 cases; active tally hits 9,203


The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday logged 86 new COVID-19 cases, while the active tally decreased to 9,203.

This was the second straight day for new COVID-19 numbers to hit less than a hundred as active cases also went down from 9,211 on Tuesday.

The DOH’s latest figures showed that the country’s COVID-19 tally climbed to 4,075,757.

In the last 14 days, among the regions with the highest cases are the National Capital Region with 441 infections, followed by Davao Region with 208, Calabarzon with 187, Western Visayas with 104, and Central Visayas with 66.

The DOH said at least 142 new patients recovered, bringing the recovery tally to 4,000,503.

The death toll also increased to 66,051 with 12 new fatalities, according to the Health Department.

Meanwhile, at least 9,410 individuals were tested, while 329 testing laboratories submitted data as of Tuesday, February 21.

The bed occupancy rate in the country stood at 16.9% with at least 4,297 beds occupied and 21,183 were vacant as of Monday, February 20. — Richa Noriega/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
