416 PDLs released by BuCor

A total of 416 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) were released on Monday from various prisons and penal farms of the Bureau of Correction (BuCor).

According to BuCor, 205 were released from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), 76 from the Davao Prison and Penal Farm, and 42 from the Correctional Institution for Women.

Meanwhile, of those released, 78 were acquitted, 9 were granted probation, and 81 were released on parole, while the remaining served their maximum sentence.

The culminating program was attended by BuCor officer-in-charge Gregorio Catapang, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, and Public Attorney’s chief Persida Acosta.

In January, a total of 340 PDLs were released. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
