UPCAT resumes this year
The University of the Philippines (UP) announced that its college admission test will resume on June 3 and 4 after being halted due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The university said the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) will be held in more than 100 test centers nationwide.
This year’s UPCAT application period will open in the first week of March, according to the UP.
“All applications are to be done online and applicants need to encode their grades for Grades 8, 9, 10, and 11 in the UPCAT online portal,” the university said in a statement released on Wednesday.
“Though applicants may still be in Grade 11 when they apply, exam takers will encode their grades online only in September 2023 when Grade 11 grades are final and complete,” it added.
The UP said it shall request hard copies of the applicants’ official grades from their school to be used for “verification purposes” of the Office of Admissions in September.
This year’s UPCAT passers will be admitted to the university in the first semester of academic year 2024 to 2025, it added. — Richa Noriega/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
