Another ex-cop linked to kidnapping of e-sabong agent surrenders

Another former policeman tagged in the abduction of an e-sabong master agent surrendered to authorities on Saturday night.

The suspect, former Police Corporal Roy Navarete, voluntarily surrendered at the Calauan Municipal Police Station in Laguna, according to a report by Super Radyo dzBB’s Luisito Santos.

Navarete was the subject of a warrant of arrest due to charges related to kidnapping and serious illegal detention, and robbery against Ricardo Lasco in Barangay San Lucas in San Pablo, Laguna on August 30, 2021.

On Thursday, fellow suspects former Police Patrolman Rigel Brosas and former Police Staff Sergeant Daryl Paghangaan surrendered to the Philippine National Police-Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) Team 4-A.

Lasco was illegally arrested at his house by the suspects who allegedly pretended to be agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Apart from kidnapping Lasco, the group also allegedly took the victim's jewelry, money, cellphones, and a vault containing money.

Lasco has not been seen since.

Bail was set at P400,000 for each case of robbery with violence, but no bail was recommended for the kidnapping and serious illegal detention charges. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
