SC, US Embassy office reaffirm commitment to work together
Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo and other Supreme Court justices met with an American delegation from the United States Embassy’s Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
In a statement released Thursday, the high court said the Supreme Court and the INL reaffirmed their commitment to continue working together on judicial reform programs.
Gesmundo was joined by Justices Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, Henri Jean Paul Inting, Rodil Zalameda, Jhosep Lopez, Japar Dimaampao, Jose Midas Marquez, Antonio Kho, and Maria Filomena Singh.
The American delegation was headed by INL Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Lisa Johnson. With her were INL Director Kelia Communs, Legal adviser Don Calvert, and INL Program Officer Richard Maloney, and Chudney Ngo.
According to the statement, Johnson also said she was proud to partner with the Philippine Supreme Court.
She also lauded the Court’s Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations 2022-2027, which includes reforms that seek to improve efficiency, innovation, and access to information. — Joahna Lei Casilao/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
