NCRPO launches app to boost crime response
Help is one click away for Metro Manila residents after the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) launched its own mobile application on Monday.
Dubbed as "Safe NCRPO App Alert", the application allows users to report crime incidents and seek assistance from the police through their smartphones, according to a report on “24 Oras."
A click on the police alert button will call the attention of the command center which will then advise the nearest police stations. Users may also use its text reporting feature.
Meanwhile, users will be required to register their identities to avoid pranks and bogus alerts.
A similar application will be launched throughout the country, Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos said. He added that the government has started random drug tests among its employees.—Sundy Locus/LDF, GMA Integrated News
