DOH logs 307 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 12,006


The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday logged 307 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the total number of cases since the pandemic broke out in March 2020 to 4,069,147.

This was the fifth straight day with fewer than 500 COVID-19 cases reported.

Based on the DOH data, the number of active cases increased to 12,006 from 11,975 on Wednesday.

The National Capital Region had the highest number of new cases in the past two weeks with 1,819, followed by Calabarzon with 903, Central Luzon with 449, Western Visayas with 314, and Cagayan Valley with 277.

The recovery tally climbed to 3,991,615 while the death toll increased to 65,526 with 17 new fatalities.

A total of 11,814 individuals were tested on Wednesday, and 332 testing laboratories submitted data.

The bed occupancy rate in the country stood at 19.8% on Wednesday, with 5,327 occupied and 21,615 vacant beds. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
