Philippines logs 481 new COVID-19 cases
The Philippines recorded 481 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, while the active tally increased to 11,975.
Based on the Department of Health's latest data, the nationwide tally is currently at 4,068,802, while the number of active cases went up from the 11,856 recorded on Tuesday.
This was the fourth straight day with fewer than 500 COVID-19 infections.
The recovery tally climbed to 3,991,318 with 247 new recoveries.
Eleven new fatalities were reported, increasing the death toll to 65,509.
In the past two weeks, the National Capital Region had the highest number of new cases (2,156), followed by Calabarzon with 1,064, Central Luzon with 519, Western Visayas with 334, and Cagayan Valley with 314.
As of Tuesday, the national bed occupancy rate was 20.1%, with 5,432 occupied and 21,585 vacant beds.
A total of 11,852 individuals were tested on Tuesday, and 332 testing laboratories submitted data. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
