Marcos directs release of over P3M for repair of schools in Misamis Oriental
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Wednesday ordered the release of more than P3 million for the repair of school buildings in Misamis Oriental that were damaged by flooding due to the shear line.
"If the LGUs (local government units) can take the load, we can send you the three million plus immediately. Kasi ito ‘yung nakalista dito, for the school buildings," Marcos said during the situation briefing in Gingoog City.
"I’m talking about the school buildings for the repair. Yeah do it. By administration na lang para mas mabilis. Mas mabilis and mas mura," he added.
Marcos said there were 63 classrooms that were flooded due to the heavy downpour caused by the shear line.
The President also instructed the Department of Public Works and Highways to expedite the repair of damaged infrastructure once the floods have subsided.
The local government of Gingoog reported that the number of affected families has risen to 18,452, while 45 out of 59 barangays have been affected. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
