Philippines records 332 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 11,856
The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday recorded 332 new infections as the active tally went down to 11,856.
This was the third day straight of fewer than 500 cases reported.
Based on the latest data, the DOH said the active cases dropped from 12,267 on Monday.
The new infections brought the nationwide COVID-19 tally to 4,068,425.
The National Capital Region (NCR) remained the region with most cases with 2,092 in the last two weeks. It was followed by Calabarzon with 1,035, Central Luzon with 516, Cagayan Valley with 318, and Western Visayas with 312.
The recovery tally also climbed to 3,991,071 with 770 new recoveries.
The death tally reached 65,498 with 12 new fatalities.
The latest DOH figures showed that at least 5,557 beds were occupied, while 21,495 were vacant as the bed occupancy in the country stood at 20.5% as of Sunday, January 8.
A total of 10,966 individuals were tested, while 334 testing labs submitted data as of Monday, January 9.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
