Philippines logs 369 new COVID-19 cases; active tally down to 12,660
The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported 369 new COVID-19 cases in the country, a day after the celebration of the new year.
This is the lowest single-day tally in five days and the 11th straight day of fewer than 1,000 new cases after the 1,031 fresh infections registered on December 22.
Based on the DOH bulletin, the nationwide COVID-19 caseload now totals 4,065,173.
Active infections went down to 12,660 from Sunday’s 13,061. This is the lowest in nearly six months, since the 12,528 cases monitored on July 8, 2022.
The total number of recoveries rose by 777 to 3,987,098 while the total death toll now stands at 65,415 with 18 new fatalities.
The highest number of new cases in the last 14 days were monitored in Metro Manila with 3,050. It was followed by CALABARZON with 1,431; Central Luzon with 682; Western Visayas with 374 and Cagayan Valley with 280.
A total of 3,686 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Sunday, January 1, 2023, while 268 testing laboratories submitted their results.
The country’s bed occupancy is still at low risk with 17.1% or 4,618 of the total 27,085 beds occupied and 22,467 vacant. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
