1,196 new COVID-19 cases logged; active tally at 18,262
The Department of Health on Saturday logged 1,196 new COVID-19 cases, while the active tally dropped to 18,262.
The number of active cases is down from 18,910 on Friday, while the nationwide caseload hit 4,055,396.
The National Capital Region recorded the highest number of new infections in the past two weeks with 5,945 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 2,498; Central Luzon with 1,222; Cagayan Valley with 716; and Western Visayas with 706.
The recovery tally increased to 3,972,100 with 1,846 new recoveries, while the death toll rose to 65,034.
As of Friday, the national bed occupancy rate was 22.6%, with 6,237 occupied and 21,390 vacant beds.
A total of 10,655 individuals were tested on Friday, and 333 testing laboratories submitted data. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
