Poe family gathers for FPJ's 18th death anniversary
During the 18th death anniversary of the National Artist Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ) on Wednesday, December 14, the Poe family gathered and offered flowers and scheduled a gift-giving activity for sick children and their families.
According to a press release, FPJ's daughter Senator Grace Poe was joined by her cousins Joseph, Jeff Sonora, and other relatives as they visited FPJ's grave at the Manila North Cemetery.
"FPJ wants to make people feel special, especially the downtrodden. Our yearly tradition of sharing gifts this Christmas season as we mark his passing is a way of keeping FPJ's memories alive," said the Senator.
On Thursday, December 15, the Panday Bayanihan foundation, spearheaded by FPJ's grandson Brian Poe Llamanzares, is scheduled to visit the National Children's Hospital to give toys and Noche Buena packages to the pediatric patients and their families.
Panday Bayanihan was established in honor of the King of Philippine Movies by his supporters to help Filipinos most affected in times of crisis. The group has been conducting relief missions all over the country.
"We are grateful to the people for allowing us to reach out to them. FPJ left a legacy of caring and sharing that we will continue," Poe added. -- BAP, GMA Integrated News
