Comelec, Robinsons Malls ink deal for 2023 BSKE voter registration
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) and Robinsons Malls on Tuesday inked a memorandum for voter registration and the Register Anywhere Project (RAP) for the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia and Robinsons Malls EVP Faraday Go, together with other key officials, signed the memorandum of agreement.
The partnership aims to provide accessible Comelec registration through its offsite or satellite offices in Robinsons Malls.
Robinsons Vice President for Operations, Business Development, and Marketing Joel Lumanlan said they hope to expand the RAP in Robinsons Malls nationwide.
He said the RAP will run in Robinsons Galleria, and Robinsons Place Manila starting this weekend.
Garcia, meanwhile, also encouraged those who are not registered voters to register for the upcoming BSKE.
The voter registration for the BSKE started on Monday.
Comelec spokesperson Rex Laudiangco earlier said around two million people are expected to register with the resumption of voter registration.
The poll body earlier announced that it would pilot the RAP in five selected malls in the National Capital Region, including SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, SM Fairview in Quezon City, SM Southmall in Las Piñas City, Robinsons Place Manila, and Robinson’s Galleria in Quezon City on December 17.
Additional sites have been set up at Robinsons Mall Tacloban, Barangay Baras Baras, Tacloban City; SM City Legazpi, Imelda Roces Avenue, Zone 9, Barangay 37 Bitano, Legazpi City, Albay; and Robinson’s Mall Naga, Naga City, Camarines Sur.
The RAP will be conducted every Saturday and Sunday from December 17 until January 25, 2023.
