Fun Ferris wheel ride turns frightening amid heavy rain, thunder

What was supposed to be a fun Ferris wheel ride for a group of friends turned wet and chilling after a thunderstorm caused a heavy downpour at a theme park.

According to Cedric Castillo's report on "24 Oras" on Thursday, the incident was caught on video, which has since gone viral.

"Kabado po ako kasi hindi ko expected na umiikot po 'yung sinakyan po namin eh ang lakas ng hangin don sa taas," video uploader Bryan Duldulao said.

(I was nervous because I didn't expect the ride to continue turning even with the strong winds at the top.)

"Talaga pong sumisigaw ako kasi di ko alam ang gagawin. Nag-hysterical na po ako actually noon sa taas. Sumisigaw na po kami pati 'yung ibang nakasakay. Sumisigaw na rin po sila na ihinto na lang din po 'yung ride,"he added.

(I was screaming because I didn't know what to do. I went hysterical at the top. We were all screaming, including the other groups. They were calling for the ride to just stop.)

An occupational, safety and, health expert warned the incident was dangerous for Duldulao and other passengers of the ride.

"Napakadelikado dahil 'yung hawakan madulas. Salamat, nakaupo siya at the same time 'yung bagsak ng ulan, medyo panicking nga ang dating ng tao," Engr. Allan Cuya, occupational, safety and health consultant, said.
