DOH logs 703 new COVID-19 infections, active cases down to 17,049
The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday logged 703 new COVID-19 infections, the third day straight of fewer than 1,000 new infections.
Based on the DOH’s data, the tally of active cases also fell to 17,049 from 17,550 on Wednesday.
The new infections also increased the nationwide tally to 4,028,187.
Meanwhile, the National Capital Region (NCR) reported the highest number of cases in the recent two weeks with 3,382, followed by Calabarzon with 1,973, Western Visayas with 1,444, Central Luzon with 1,131, and Central Visayas with 1,078.
The DOH said the recovery tally increased to 3,946,634 while the death toll also climbed to 64,504 with four new fatalities.
At least 13,858 individuals were tested, while 337 testing laboratories submitted data as of Tuesday, November 22.
The bed occupancy in the country stood at 23.1% with at least 6,582 beds occupied and 21,851 were vacant as of Monday, November 21. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA Integrated News
