Marcos for Korea denuclearization, expresses concern over North Korea's missile testing
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Saturday expressed support for South Korea's efforts for the denuclearization of Korean Peninsula and concern over the continuous missile testing of North Korea.
“This is of great concern and we are fully supportive of the Republic of Korea in all your efforts to denuclearize North Korea,” Marcos said during a bilateral meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol in Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the sidelines of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, according to the Office of the Press Secretary.
“The Philippines is one with you on that and we will do what we can to assist South Korea in that effort," Marcos said.
The Philippines and South Korea agreed on Saturday to elevate their bilateral relations to a strategic partnership, particularly in the areas of security, infrastructure, energy, and people-to-people exchanges. —KG, GMA Integrated News
