Las Piñas court hears Juanito Remulla’s drug possession case
Two chemists from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Thursday testified at the hearing on the drug possession case filed against Juanito Remulla III before a Las Piñas City court.
Aside from the two chemists, PDEA representatives brought a box that contained kush or high-grade marijuana, which is the main evidence in the case, GMA Integrated News’ Mark Salazar reported on Super Radyo dzBB.
Remulla attended the hearing called by the Las Piñas Regional Trial Court Branch 197 through a videoconference from where he is detained at the Las Piñas City Jail. He was represented by his lawyers.
Remulla was nabbed during a controlled delivery operation by the PDEA and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group in Barangay Talon Dos, Las Piñas, on October 11.
He pleaded not guilty to the drug possession charges last week.
Remulla is also facing complaints for importation of dangerous drugs and violation of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, both of which are under preliminary investigation by the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office.
He did not submit a counter affidavit at the close of the preliminary investigation hearing on Wednesday. —Joahna Lei Casilao/VBL, GMA Integrated News
