Philippines' 18,392 active COVID-19 cases lowest in over 3 months
The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday registered 782 new COVID-19 infections, while the active cases dipped to 18,392, the lowest since July 15, 2022.
The nationwide COVID-19 tally reached to 4,006,635, the department said.
This was the third day straight of fewer than 1,000 cases recorded.
Thursday's active cases were lower by 297 than the 18,689 logged on Wednesday. This marks the sixth straight day of decreasing COVID-19 active infections.
In the past two weeks, the DOH said among the regions with the reported highest infections were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 4,355 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 2,624, Western Visayas with 1,577, Central Luzon with 1,536, and Davao Region with 1,077.
Meanwhile, the nationwide recovery tally also increased to 3,924,064 with 1,058 new recoveries.
At least 34 new fatalities were recorded, the lowest in nine days. This brings the the death tally to 64,179.
The number of beds occupied is at 6,790, while 21,692 were vacant, according to the DOH.
The bed occupancy in the country slightly increased to 23.8% from earlier 23.7% as of Tuesday, November 1.
