Fortun: Shabu found in alleged Percy Lapid middleman’s urine

The urine sample collected from the body of June Villamor, the alleged middleman in the slaying of broadcaster Percy Lapid, had traces of methamphetamine or shabu, forensic pathologist Dr. Raquel Fortun said Saturday.

At a press conference, Fortun revealed the results of the autopsy she conducted on Villamor’s remains, and the “preliminary urine toxicology showed methamphetamine.”

Justice Secretary Boying Remulla said that the presence of methamphetamine in the deceased inmate’s urine was “a very important finding that was not present in the first report.”

“Rumors na meron talagang shabu sa Bilibid, I think, is confirmed by the fact that the person who died had shabu or methamphetamine in the system,” Remulla said.

The Justice chief said the Department of Justice (DOJ) was planning to have a second laboratory examine the urine collected from Villamor to see if other chemicals or substances would be found.

The autopsy conducted by Fortun concluded  that the alleged middleman died of “asphyxia by plastic bag suffocation” and that the “circumstances surrounding death, the manner is homicide.” — DVM, GMA News
