DOH reports 1,984 new COVID-19 cases, active cases climbs to 24,192
The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported at least 1,984 new COVID-19 cases while the active tally increased to 24,192.
Based on the DOH’s latest figures, the active case tally climbed to 24,192 from 23,721 on Thursday.
The country’s caseload is now at 3,991,441, according to the DOH.
The National Capital Region (NCR) remained the top region with the highest cases in the recent two weeks with 8,673 infections recorded, followed by Calabarzon with 4,656, Central Luzon with 2,628, Western Visayas with 1,520, and Davao Region with 1,410.
The nationwide recovery tally also rose to 3,903,543 with 1,377 new patients defeated the viral disease.
The DOH said at least 37 new fatalities were logged as the death toll climbed to 63,706.
A total of 7,542 beds were occupied, while 20,946 were vacant as the bed occupancy in the country stood at 26.5% as of Wednesday, October 19.
At least 14,980 individuals were tested, while 341 testing labs submitted data as of Thursday, October 20.—AOL, GMA News
