President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has declared October 31, 2022, a special non-working holiday.
This was announced by Office of the Press Secretary officer-in-charge Cheloy Garafil at a press briefing on Tuesday.
"The President has signed the Proclamation declaring October 31 as a special non-working holiday, para na rin po marami tayong time kasama ang ating pamilya at para ma-promote na rin po ang ating local tourism," Garafil said.
Signed by Marcos on October 18, Proclamation No. 79 states that the declaration of 31 October 2022, falling on a Monday, as special non-working day, will strengthen family ties and promote domestic tourism.
It also tasked the Department of Labor and Employment to issue the appropriate circular to implement the Proclamation for the private sector. —KBK/RSJ, GMA News
