DOH logs 2,367 new COVID-19 infections, active cases hit 26,404


The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday logged 2,367 new COVID-19 cases, while the country’s active tally has reached 26,404.

For the third day in a row, over 2,000 new infections were reported.

The number of active cases slightly increased from 26,399 on Friday, while the nationwide caseload stood at 3,980,629.

In the past two weeks, the National Capital Region logged the highest number of new infections with 10,848, followed by Calabarzon with 5,345, Central Luzon with 2,796, Davao Region with 1,422, and Western Visayas with 1,161.

The country’s recovery tally climbed to 3,890,748 with 2,232 new recoveries.

Thirty-eight new deaths were recorded, pushing the death toll to 63,477.

As of Friday, the national bed occupancy rate was 25.7%, with 7,336 occupied and 21,263 vacant beds.

A total of 14,542 individuals were tested on Friday, while 328 testing laboratories submitted data.  — VBL, GMA News
